The Leader’s Heart: Strengthening Others

“Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? We have been speaking in the sight of God as those in Christ; AND EVERYTHING WE DO, dear friends, IS FOR YOUR STRENGTHENING.” – 2 Corinthians 12:19
The heart of ministry; the heart of evangelism; the heart of discipleship; the heart of servanthood is passionate about the strengthening of others. It is this heart of self-abandon toward the welfare and growth of someone loved. There’s a burning desire to serve others in the name of the Living God so that others would come to Him and experience his saving glory!
There is no self boast in serving others. A servant heart recognizes nothing in himself and all things about God. What a servant can do is all because His master enables him. The Christian servant, most privileged of all, empowered and enabled by the Creator of the universe. While a servant has nothing in himself, he has EVERYTHING in Christ. Christ is enough!
There is no meaningless effort while serving others. A passionate servant of God wastes no time doing meaningless things. The offerings of the world and the seduction of sin are of no enchantment to a servant of God because his joy is filled only by seeing Christ worshiped by more and more people. Everyday, every moment is a captive day for the strengthening of others.
The Christian leader is after the beauty of lives changed for Jesus. He has beheld the beauty of Christ and is desperate to see others experience the same. He builds up disciples so that there may be more like him. Passionate, desperate leaders longing to preach Jesus to as many as possible. This is the beauty of ministry. This is the beauty of discipleship.
What would you say is the reason for EVERYTHING YOU DO?
